Match 10: Debutant Shadman shines in Dynamites’ win

Dhaka Dynamites sealed off an easy win against Chittagong Vikings after they were restricted to 92.

Two new opening partners were sent in for the Dynamites in this match, one of them was a T20 debutant, Shadman Islam. He and Shykat Ali gave their team a perfect start, picked up 45 in the first 6 overs. Then Shykat got out to Shafiul, but Shadman was looking so much comfortable in the middle. He played a delightful pull off an Amir bouncer and dispatched it to the mid-wicket boundary in sublime fashion in the third over, and then in this over he hit Shafiul for two glorious fours.

After 10 overs, the Dynamites were 66-1 and required just 27 off the last 10 with 9 wickets in hand. Naeem Islam was introduced into attack and he enjoyed success in his first over. He got Jamshed out last ball, and the again in the last ball of his second over, he got Nasir out, bowled. These breaks were not enough to cause a blockade to the Dynamites’ chase. Shadman was still in and was closing in for his fifty in his very first match.

On the other side, Naeem Islam bowled an astonishing spell of great bowling, giving away only 4 runs in his first two overs and picked up 2 wickets too. When he came to bowl his 3rd over, Dhaka Dynamites needed only 4 runs and Shadman was nearing his fifty, but then he struck and bowled Shadman out only 2 runs away from win.

Kumar Sangakkara had to come out and entertain the crowd with his flawless batting. He did so, with an elegant pull behind square to dispatch the ball crawling out of the ropes and sealed the win. An easy win for the Dynamites by six wickets and 17 balls were left to be played. Shadman Islam earned the Player of the Match on his debut match.
