Impossible to find replacement for Narine : Mashrafe

The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Sunday confirmed that an independent assessment found the bowling action of West Indies spinner Sunil Narine to be illegal. He has been suspended from bowling in international cricket with immediate effect.

As a result, Narine – who is playing for Comilla Victorians in the ongoing third season of the BRB Cables Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2015 and so far has taken 4 wickets in 4 matches at 22.50 with an outstanding average of 5.80 – will not play in the remainder of the prestigious T20 tournament.
Narine’s absence is a great shocker for the Victorians, said Comilla captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza on Monday. He said that now they will be in great trouble to find out the proper balance of the team.
“It’s a big loss for us. We were mentally prepared for such decision
come. Still it’s very disappointing. He (Narine) is one of the biggest weapons of our bowling attack. I would not want to lose him in exchange of anything. But now as it’s an official decision from the ICC, we have no way out,” said Mashrafe.
Comilla Victorians are currently leading the point table with 6 points from 4 matches in the first phase. But things will become very critical for them ahead of the second phase as now they will be out of the services of two of their biggest players in Marlon Samuels and Sunil Narine.
“We might get a good replacement of Samuels in Shoaib Malik. But there is no one appropriate to step in the shoes of Narine. There can’t be any alternative to Narine. He is one of a kind and it’s impossible to find out his replacement,” added Mashrafe.
