Owais Shah Sylhet’s last-minute addition

Sylhet Superstars are yet to take the field in the third season of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). They had no match in the opening day of the tournament. They are scheduled to lock horns with Chittagong Vikings at 2pm on Monday.

On the eve of their first battle in the field, they have included a new player in their squad. They have roped in Owais Shah, the former England batsman. And it has been learnt that Shah is already in the city as he arrived in Bangladesh on Sunday ahead of his new team’s first match on Monday.

To be noted, this is the second time of participation for the Englishman in the prestigious T20 tournament. In the previous season of the cash-rich tournament, he played for Dhaka Gladiators, who ended up being the champions of the season, and Shah played a crucial role behind their success.

Apart from Shah, Sri Lanka spinner Ajantha Mendis also joined Sylhet camp on Sunday. On the other hand, Fidel Edwards is also expected to make his arrival on Tuesday morning.
