Dynamites lose a thriller

Dynamites batsmen stepped up today, but their bowlers failed to convert it into victory, as Sylhet Superstars kept them in hunt for a last four finish with a six-wicket victory off the penultimate delivery of the match.
The pitch was better for batting than it has been for most parts of the day. Farhad Reza did a decent job as a makeshift opener, scoring 31, including a huge six. Sangakkara was his typical classy self, as he slammed some beautiful boundaries. By the time he was dismissed, he had scored 48 off 35.
Sangakkara was ably supported by Nasir Hossain who scored a brisk 31 off 23 balls. Some smart hitting in the slog overs from Mosaddek Hossain and Waller helped Dhaka post a total of 157, which seemed like a winning score at that stage.
However, Junaid Siddique and Ravi Bopara had other ideas. After Joshua Cobb got dismissed, these batsmen went after the mediocre deliveries, slamming them to all parts of the park. Bopara, in particular morewas severe on the spinners. Both batsmen got to their fifties, but were dismissed soon after.
Sohail Tanvir and Shahid Afridi took care of the rest of the chase. At one point, Sylhet needed 8 off 3 balls. Afridi hit the next two balls for sixes over long leg to seal the victory for Sylhet Superstars.
If Sylhet win tomorrow against Comilla, and Dhaka lose against Barisal, things might end up to be pretty interesting, because it would depend on net run rate and Sylhet might end up qualifying to the top four from close to nowhere.
