Mushfiqur goes past 800-run mark

Jannatul Naym Pieal
It’s a great day for Bangladesh Test skipper Mushfiqur Rahim. For the first time during the third season of BRB Cables Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), today he came to the post match presentation ceremony with wearing a smile, something that replicates the relief he got at last when his team cruised to a 4-wicket victory against chart leader Comilla Victorians to finally open their account. As an individual too the Little Dynamo was on top of his game, as he unfurled 47 off 31 balls to play a crucial part on his team’s way to finding a nail-biting victory.
And that’s not the end of the story. With today’s 47, which can be termed as one of the match winning knocks, Mushfiqur touched a great milestone as well. He became the first batsman in the history of BPL to amass 800 runs. Playing 29 matches till date, Mr. Dependable scored 819 runs at 40.95. Mushfiqur is not only the highest scorer of BPL, he also holds the second best batting average. Only Brad Hodge has a better number than Mushfiqur as far as batting average is concerned. Hodge scored 756 runs at 42.00.
