Soumya fifty seals win for Rangpur Riders

Opener Soumya Sarkar fifty has sealed win for Rangpur Riders against Chittagong Vikings  in the second phase of  the fifteenth match of BPL 3 at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury stadium, Chittagong on Tuesday.

To chase a total of 112 runs, The Rangpur opener duo Soumya and Jahurul made a 100 run opening partnership for the team. Jahurul scored 47 runs with four fours and one six while Soumya made 58* which consist of eight fours and one six.

However, the Rangpur Riders won the match by nine wickets.

The Chittagong Vikings pacer Shafiul took one wicket for the franchise team.

In the first innings, Tamim was the top score with 36 runs while  his opening partner  Dishan made 18 runs with three fours. Kamran Akmal and Anamul contributed 12 and 14 runs individually for the franchise team. Naeem later contributed 16* runs to set a defend able target of 112.

Rangpur Riders Spinner Sunny and Shakib bagged two wickets each while oversea player Nabi and Perera took one wicket each for the franchise team. Sajib also picked up one wicket.

Earlier, Chittagong Vikings Captain Tamim Iqbal won the toss and has elected to bat first against Rangpur Riders.
