Sangakkara shines for the Dynamites
Sri Lanka’s legendary wicket keeper batsman Kumar Sangakkara has displayed a brilliant performance with the bat to reach his team Dhaka Dynamites into a competitive total of 158 runs against Barisal Bulls at the end of their stipulated 20 overs.
Earlier in the evening Barisal Bulls has won the toss and sent the opposition to bat first.
Dhaka Dynamites batsmen produced a slow and tidy start of their innings as two openers Shykat Ali and Kumar Sangakkara took 27 runs in their first four and half overs before Shykat departed for 15 (16 balls, 4×2).
Afterwards Sangakkara built up a small 21 run partnership in the second wicket with Lahiru Thirimanne (5 off 5 balls).
Sangakkara’s 60 runs came off 47 deliveries with 7 shots of four. He was the last batsman to depart for Dhaka Dynamites in today’s match.
Dutch performer RN Ten Doeschate has flourished for the first time for his team in this tournament. His unbeaten knock of 45 runs contains 3 shots of six and a four.
Dhaka Dynamites’ icon Nasir Hossain could not stand in the crease for more than 5 runs with a single four before being taken by Prasanna.
