Misbah demands competitive cricket in BPL
Pakistan’s Test skipper Misbah-ul-Haq is one of the prime attractions of the third season of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). It will be a real pleasure for cricket crazy fans around the world to see Shakib Al Hasan and Misbah-ul-Haq playing in the same team. Both of them will play for Rangpur Riders, one of the most favourite teams of the tournament.
While world number one all-rounder Shakib is one of the busiest as well as most valuable cricketers of the world because of his presence in every single major T20 tournaments around the world, it was Misbah-ul-Haq – who almost single handedly took Pakistan to the final of the inaugural World T20 back in 2007. Misbah arrived in Bangladesh on last Thursday ahead of Rangpur’s first match of the tournament against Chittagong Vikings on November 22, which will mark the beginning of this year’s BPL as well.
Misbah attended in a practice session of Rangpur at the BCB Academy Ground in Mirpur on Saturday when he had some talks with the local newsmen. He played his last T20I for Pakistan way back in 2012. But he has been a regular face in Pakistan’s domestic T20 competitions, and he insisted experience is the most important thing for playing in any format of the game.
“Experience is the key. Doesn’t matter whichever format it is, experience always remains to be the most important thing. If you have to realize different situations of the game properly and work accordingly, experience has no alternative. At the same time, along with the progress of modern day cricket, playing competitive cricket is also very important,” said the 41-year-old veteran batsman.
“As a professional individual, you always have the aim to do well at any level. Wherever I am playing, there is a challenge to prove my worth. I will be trying to make contributions and win games for my team. We have got a good team. And now we have to build up good combination among ourselves,” added Misbah.
