Neo Sports, an Indian pay-TV channel, has acquired the rights to broadcast the forthcoming third season of the money-spinning Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) twenty20 cricket tournament across South Asia.
The lucrative tournament is slated to roll onto the ground from 22 November 2015, with a Bollywood star-studded opening ceremony scheduled two days earlier. Tolia further added, “We will use our network as well as other broadcasters to promote the tourney. Also what we have witnessed so far the league has been hugely popular among youth and we will be targeting them through digital media too.”
It is to be noted that, STAR Sports, another pay-TV giant of this region owned by STAR India and Fox International Channels had broadcast the two previous editions of the BPL T20 tournament across the Indian subcontinent.
After a gap of two and a half years, BPL revives involving six team franchises: Chittagong Vikings, Sylhet Superstars Dhaka Dynamites, Rangpur Riders, Comilla Victorians, and Barisal Bulls. The matches will be played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka and Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong.
