Shakib becomes highest wicket-taker of BPL

Jannatul Naym Pieal
Shakib Al Hasan is the number one all-rounder in the world. He is one of the best cricketers in T20 cricket. And as far as the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) is concerned, he is undoubtedly the best, for which he won the Man of the Tournament in both of the previous two editions of the prestigious T20 tournament.
Another now another feather of success has been added to Shakib’s crown. He is now the leading wicket-taker in the history of BPL. With notching three wickets in today’s match against Barisal Bulls, he is now on top of everyone.
Prior to the commencement of this year’s BPL, Enamul Haque (Jr.) was on top of the list with 31 wickets, while the maverick all-rounder was immediate next to him, second positioned, with 29 wickets. He left wicketless in the first match of the tournament against Chittagong Vikings, where he gave away 22 runs in 2 overs without any success.
But in the match against Barisal, Shakib found his form and plucked as many as 3 wickets. And in the process, he is now the highest wicket-taker of the money-spinning tournament. Playing 26 matches, Shakib now has 31 wickets to his name. He returned figures of 3 for 23 against Rangpur, sending Brendon Taylor, Mahmudullah Riyad and Nadif Chowdhury.
