All eyes were on Mohammad Amir when Chittagong Vikings clashed with Rangpur Riders in the inaugural match of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) as it was Amir’s comeback match in an international level competitive cricket match after serving five-year ban due to his involvement in spot fixing.
The tainted Pakistan pacer fulfilled everyone’s expectation with delivering a tremendous performance in the field. He started his BPL journey with a double wicket maiden. Again he uprooted two crucial wickets of Thisara Perera and Misbah-ul-Haq in the 19th over of the match, which almost saw Chittagong home before Darren Sammy took away the match in the last over with a blistering knock.
Chittagong might have lost the match but Mohammad Amir’s performance was surely a delight to watch for every single cricket fan. Chittagong captain Tamim also was quite impressed with the performace Amir showcased today.
“He is wonderful and bowled brilliantly. He has done just what I was expecting from him. I hope he will be able to keep up such performance in the coming matches of the tournament as well. And I believe it is possible for him to perform even better. He was supposed to be a bit nervous but he didn’t let that to reflect on his performance. He looked like he is ready to face all challenge,” said Tamim.
